Metstrade 2025:
Webasto introduces new air conditioning and roof solutions
With the BlueCool SX-Series, Webasto is launching a new line of self-contained air-conditioning units designed for smaller boats. At the same time, the SoLite roof family is being expanded with two compact models.
Gilching, October 16, 2025 - At this year’s Metstrade in Amsterdam (November 18–20, Hall 12, Stand 411), Webasto will showcase innovations in climate control and roof systems. Following the successful market launch of the BlueCool VX-Series in 2024, Webasto is now extending its portfolio with the BlueCool SX-Series – while also adding new roof solutions to the SoLite product family.
BlueCool SX-Series: Sustainable self-contained units for smaller boats
The new BlueCool SX-Series expands Webasto’s successful BlueCool product family with compact, self-contained air-conditioning units. While the modular BlueCool VX-Series chiller system is tailored for larger yachts, the SX-Series delivers efficient, sustainable, and durable climate solutions for smaller boats with up to three cabins.
The series uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R32, featuring a low Global Warming Potential (GWP 675). Optimized refrigerant charges further reduce the ecological footprint. With energy efficiency ratios of up to EER 3.1 and COP 4.4, the SX-Series achieves up to 27 percent higher cooling and 43 percent better heating performance compared to previous models – while cutting power consumption by up to 24 percent.
Durability is ensured by titanium condensers and epoxy-coated stainless-steel condensate trays, while the rotated layout of the units ease the installation for boat builders. The modern multi-color MyTouch display provides intuitive control. With seven cooling capacities from 6 to 27 kBTU/h, variants with 115 and 230 Volt, as well as 50/60 Hz compatibility, the BlueCool SX-Series offers maximum flexibility for boatbuilders and owners.
New SoLite 12 & SoLite 20: compact roof solutions with premium DNA
Following the successful launch of the SoLite roof concept in 2024, Webasto is now expanding its range downward. From 2026, the SoLite 12 and the SoLite 20 will be available as compact roof variants designed specifically for smaller boats.
SoLite 12 replaces the proven BlueSky Glass and features improved performance and a modernized look. The brand-new SoLite 20 broadens the portfolio with a versatile solution suited for everything from T-Top boats to cabin models. Both versions carry forward the sustainability features of the SoLite series: Reduced weight, dark specialty glass to minimize heat buildup, optional solar integration, and premium comfort options such as ambient LED lighting and sleek blinds.
“Sustainability is not a buzzword for us, but the guiding principle behind every new product. That is why we consistently rely on future-proof refrigerants such as R32, reduce weight and energy consumption, and combine these efforts with durable, marine-grade materials”, says Jörg Hornung, Vice President Aftermarket at Webasto. “At the same time, we are expanding our global dealer network to ensure fast and competent support for our customers worldwide – whether in Europe, the Americas or Asia.”
