Gilching, September 24, 2025 – Delivering industry-leading efficiency, durability, and comfort control, the advanced BlueCool VX-Series chiller system from Webasto will soon be keeping guests cool aboard the catamaran Lagoon Eighty 2, the new top model of Groupe Beneteau‘s prestigious Lagoon range. This decision follows years of successful collaboration with Webasto, including the proven performance of BlueCool S-Series & V-Series systems on Groupe Beneteau’s Trawler & Lagoon ranges.
Groupe Beneteau has expanded the product range from mid-range models to include top-tier offerings from Webasto, citing reliability, cooling performance, and customer satisfaction as factors in this decision.
Custom Solution for Maximum Comfort
For Lagoon Eighty 2, Webasto delivered a fully validated system sized precisely to the yacht’s cooling demands. Two VX-Series chiller units were mounted on a custom frame and supplied as a plug-and-play package. The engineering team from Webasto worked closely with Groupe Beneteau on piping layout, installation support, and system optimization, providing a truly end-to-end solution. Even the connectivity under Scheiber protocol has been implemented in the ECU from Webasto for better customer experience using ship control interface.
The BlueCool VX-Series advantages
The Webasto BlueCool VX-Series is an innovative marine chiller system designed with variable speed control to deliver maximum efficiency and precise load management. Its modular architecture allows up to six units, available in 36, 48, 60, 72, and 120 kBTU/h capacities to be flexibly combined, creating the high cooling power needed for anything from medium-sized yachts to superyachts. Built with titanium condenser coils, the system ensures long-term durability even in the harshest marine environments. Three integrated ECO modes give operators the ability to fine-tune output, reducing power consumption while maintaining onboard comfort. Control is intuitive through the BlueCool MyTouch display, which offers multilingual support, water flow monitoring for both sea and chilled water circuits, and centralized operation of all connected chiller units via the VX-System Bus. For seamless integration into a vessel’s onboard systems, optional pump control boxes and other accessories complete the package.
