Metstrade 2026: Webasto showcases new SoLite Roof Systems and Climate Control Solutions
The SoLite 12 and 20 bring premium roof features to smaller boats. The upgraded BlueCool SX-Series, the new Cool Top Marine rooftop air conditioner and the Air Top Pro 25 air heater expand onboard climate control options.
Stockdorf, October 21, 2026 - Celebrating 20 years in the marine industry, Webasto will showcase new roof and climate control solutions at this year’s Metstrade in Amsterdam (Hall 12, Stand 411). The market launch of the compact SoLite 12 and 20 roof systems takes center stage. Further highlights include the BlueCool SX-Series with integrated Intelligent Compressor Control, the new Cool Top Marine rooftop air conditioner for vessels and the Air Top Pro 25 air heater for smaller cabins.
SoLite 12 and SoLite 20: Compact roof solutions now available
The SoLite 12 and 20 roof systems combine compact dimensions with the comfort features of the larger SoLite roof concepts.
The SoLite 12 replaces the proven BlueSky Glass and offers an improved UV filter and a modernized design. The SoLite 20 adds a versatile roof solution suitable for both T-top boats and cabin boats.
Dark specialty glass helps reduce heat buildup inside the boat caused by sunlight. Optional integrated solar cells offer additional possibilities for onboard power generation. Ambient LED lighting and sleek blinds complete the range of comfort options.
Together, they give boatbuilders more flexibility to integrate premium roof features into compact boat designs. The SoLite roof systems are also shortlisted for the DAME Design Award.
BlueCool SX-Series: Smoother starts, greater onboard comfort
The upgraded BlueCool SX-Series now features integrated Intelligent Compressor Control technology. The compact, self-contained marine air conditioners offer cooling capacities from 6,000 to 27,000 BTU/h and reverse-cycle heating for year-round comfort on board.
Intelligent Compressor Control reduces starting current peaks by up to 95%, easing the load on the onboard power supply, particularly when shore power is limited or a generator is used. A self-learning algorithm automatically adapts startup to varying loads and pressure conditions without manual adjustments. Webasto Intelligent Compressor Control is designed for single-phase 115 V and 230 V systems and includes integrated motor overload protection.
Cool Top Marine: rooftop cooling for vessels
With the new Cool Top Marine, Webasto adapts its established Cool Top Trail rooftop air-conditioning concept from recreational vehicles for marine applications. Delivering 5 kilowatts (kW) of cooling capacity, approximately 17,000 BTU/h, the self-contained unit cools wheelhouses and cabins on houseboats, vessels and smaller commercial workboats.
Mounted on the cabin or wheelhouse roof, the unit preserves valuable interior space. Individual areas can be cooled without equipping the entire boat with a central air-conditioning system. The air-cooled unit requires no water cooling circuit. This simplifies installation where water intakes and piping would be difficult to accommodate and makes the Cool Top Marine particularly attractive for retrofit projects.
Air Top Pro 25: fast heating and quiet cabin comfort
The new Air Top Pro 25 air heater combines rapid warm-up with quiet continuous operation. With a heating output ranging from 0.7 to 2.5 kW, it is particularly suited to smaller cabins. The maximum output brings the interior up to temperature quickly, while the low partial-load setting maintains steady warmth with less frequent switching on and off. Various Webasto control elements, including the ThermoConnect app, provide convenient operation.
“With these additions, we are giving boatbuilders and owners more options to match onboard comfort to the space available and the way a vessel is used,” says Jörg Hornung, Vice President Aftermarket at Webasto.
