Range Plus

Range Plus from Webasto is a heating system for electric vans designed to provide cabin heating independent of the traction battery and available for a range of vehicle applications. In cold weather conditions, vehicle range may increase by up to 35%, depending on vehicle type, usage profile and operating conditions. The retrofittable Air Top 2000 STC (2 kW) or Air Top Evo 40 (4 kW) air heater plus tank is ideal for electric vans used as minibuses, cabs, parcel transporters or technical vehicles. The heater can be operated with diesel or Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO).

Heating the interior reduces the range by up to 35 percent, even in electric vehicles of the latest generation.

Retrofitting the Webasto Range Plus system – a fuel-operated air heater with a dedicated fuel tank – enables cabin heating without drawing heating energy from the traction battery. It also ensures pleasant warmth in the interior even in cold outside temperatures.

Stadtwerke Filderstadt are converting the service vehicles used by their sales force to electric drive. To ensure that employees do not freeze in the cold months, but the vehicle battery still provides the necessary range, the Range Plus system from Webasto has been retrofitted.
